The most common causes of muscle pain are trauma, muscle fiber ruptures and internal and external causes. Most people face, at some point, such problems after intense sports. The cold season also brings the flu conditions that can cause muscle pain. Muscle pain is a common symptom that can be found in several age groups.

They can vary in intensity from mild to severe and can be located anywhere in the body (neck, back, legs, hands). Also, muscle pain often involves ligaments, tendons and fascia - the membrane that surrounds the muscles.

To improve the sensation of pain, there are many treatments, ranging from the classic medical approach, using anti-inflammatory drugs and creams with specific ingredients to a complementary, herbal approach whose therapeutic effects are more or less sustained by specialized medical studies.

  • Rest, hot baths and anti-inflammatory drugs such as aspirin or ibuprofen can relieve muscle aches caused by intense physical activity.
  • If the pain is caused by inflammation, the symptoms can be relieved by compresses or cold water showers (if the pain is accompanied by swelling) and therapeutic massage with specific ointments.
  • Avoiding a single long position in the office, restful sleep, acupuncture, reflexology and stress avoidance can also reduce the discomfort of the muscular system.
  • Eucalyptus oil massage has an analgesic effect, relieving muscle and joint pains. It is also recommended for nervous system disorders in cutaneous conditions. The results are amazing, because eucalyptus oil has antiseptic, antibacterial, expectorant and decongestant properties in respiratory disorders. The oil is used both externally and internally in inhalations.
  • Clay has an anti-inflammatory effect and is a great remedy for joint disorders and alleviation of muscle pain, regardless of their cause. You need four to five tablespoons of clay powder, gradually adding warm water and stirring at the same time until you get a paste. It can be applied either directly to the affected muscle, to its length or to the ends (near the joints) or to a gauze (or a thin cloth), in a layer about half a centimeter thick. The side with the cloth is applied to the skin, not the one on which the clay powder was spread out! It can be operated between 20 minutes and two hours. This remedy is also very effective for back pain. If no one can help you put the paste or gauze back, stretch a towel on the bed and over it, and then sit down on it.
  • Papaya. A healthy fruit that you can easily find in hypermarkets and can get rid of muscle aches due to the substances it contains and which reduces inflammation. Moreover, the vitamins A, C and E that it contains soothe the pain. Every time you have muscle pain, eat a cup of papaya. For a few days, eat one serving a day.
  • Cabbage leaves, an old but effective remedy that grandparents put on painful joints affected by rheumatism, is also useful in treating muscular pains. In fact, this cure is very easy to use, because you only have to crumble the cabbage leaves and apply them directly to the painful area for 30-40 minutes. Other leaves, equally effective, but which you can use only in spring and summer, are oak, birch, walnut and willow. They are crushed and applied just like cabbage leaves.
  • If you had exhaustive exercise, you feel powerless and it seems that every muscle of your body hurts, treat yourself to cherry juice. In addition to helping the body recover, it also has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
