These are inflammatory endocardial diseases, mainly affecting the valvular endocardium.

Bacterial endocarditis

Subacute bacterial endocarditis (slow) and acute bacterial endocarditis (acute malignancy).

Non-bacterial endocarditis

  • Rheumatic endocarditis, chronic valvular diseases (mitral stenosis, aortic insufficiency), common consequences of rheumatic endocarditis do not fit into the endocarditis group unless the lesions are active, evolutionary.
  • Endocarditis thrombosis apear in patients with chronic cases of cystic fibrosis (cancer, tuberculosis, leukemia) and is characterized by endocardial ulceration and vegetation and embolism in the large circulation system.
